[event-cal-page] The Nevada Aerospace Hall of Fame (NVAHOF) provides a Speakers Bureau to community, civic, and school groups as one part of NVAHOF’s educational programs. Nevada’s unique 100 plus-year history, unlike any other place in the United States, is of great interest to young and old alike. 7 May 2011, NVAHOF Director Barnes joined Southern Nevada educators in preparing Nevada students for national competition in Maryland during National History Month. In April, Barnes served as a lead judge during the state-wide student competition to determine the students to represent the State of Nevada. At the request of the National Geographic Channel, NVAHOF Director attended events at the International Spy Museum in Washington, D.C. on 18 May 2011 to include: Wednesday June 1, 2011 Rocio Nakasone interview in Columbia 3-6 October 2011, the NVAHOF staff organized special events at the Atomic Testing Museum, University of Nevada Las Vegas, and a tour to Rachel, Nevada for members of Roadrunners Internationale during their reunion at the Gold Coast Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, NV. The Rachel tour was a joint project with Nellis AFB and attended by representatives of the Central Intelligence Agency. 9 November 2011 - Director Barnes spoke before the Kiwanis Club in Las Vegas, NV. 21 November 2011 - NVAHOF Historian Pete Merlin released publication of another great book titled "Images of Aviation Area 51". On 6 January 2012 NVAHOF staff members joined Nellis AFB in its Thunderbird Change of Command ceremony. Link to the event

17 October 2011 Director Barnes joined Lieutenant Colonel George "Hoss" Wilson, Director of Operations at the 2nd Special Operations Squadron as speakers for the 1198th SAS reunion headed by Noem Pfeifer of the squadron at the Gold Coast Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, NV.
19 October 2011 Director Barnes was guest speaker for the RefCom, retired CIA communications officers, at the Luxor Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas. Barnes accompanied the RefCom attendees on a tour of Nellis AFB.
26 October 2011 - Director Barnes and Communications Director Dawn Curtis joined the Daedalians Flight in a mixer dinner and recognition program with the aviation students at Rancho High School in Las Vegas, NV.

On 8 January 2012 NVAHOF Director Barnes and guest Frank Murray, former CIA A-12 pilot at Groom Lake, gave a presentation to the Mens Club of Temple BKB at the Durango Hills Country Club in Las Vegas. The topic was Frank Murray's reconnaissance flight over North Korea in the CIA A-12 spy plane to locate the USS Pueblo. Murray, Barnes, and the A-12 planes were based at Groom Lake, Nevada at the time with three planes flying out of Kadena, Okinawa to serve the Vietnam War.
