Nevada Aerospace Hall of Fame (NVAHOF) was founded on December 1, 2008. NVAHOF offers information related to the history of aviation and aerospace in Nevada through our website, speakers bureau, and archival holdings. NVAHOF recognizes and celebrates the contributions to the advancement of the aviation and aerospace history at our annual Hall of Fame induction ceremony.
The Battleborn state of Nevada claims and shares a unique legacy in aviation and aerospace pioneers and programs. Nevada pioneered the early airmail flights, the first around-the-world flight, and World War II classified programs that continue today with where prototype aircraft have conducted test flights only in Nevada. Many of the significant contributions to the development of aviation and aerospace science occurred in Nevada, with little known because due to the secrecy of many programs conducted to maintain national security.
Nevada Aerospace Hall of Fame (NVAHOF) sheds a light on this hidden history of the aviation in Nevada and recognizes the contributions of men and women who pioneered and advanced our nation’s aerospace programs within the State of Nevada.
NVAHOF serves as an educational tool to assist both researchers and the general public in better understanding the very significant aerospace history of Nevada as well as a means of recognizing those hidden beneath the shroud of secrecy which has contributed so much to their country. NVAHOF maintains an archive of video clips and high-resolution photos of the state’s aerospace history for distribution to historians, authors, agencies, scholars, and academic institutions with membership.
The Nevada Aerospace Hall of Fame (NVAHOF), incorporated in the State of Nevada on December 1, 2008, as a not for profit corporation was organized exclusively for educational purposes under Section 501 (c) (3) of the Internal Revenue Code of 1954. NVAHOF received tax-exempt status from the U.S. Internal Revenue Service on November 9, 2009. The NVAHOF currently operates as an educational resource and virtual museum through our website, www.nvahof.org. NVAHOF offerS the general public information related to the history of aviation and space through our virtual museum, speakers bureau, access to our historical archives holdings, the recommendation of related books on related subjects and our annual Hall of Fame induction ceremonies.
The Nevada Aerospace Hall of Fame mission is to educate the public regarding the history of aviation in Nevada, the contribution of Nevada citizens to the development of global aviation and to preserve the legacy of those men and women who pioneered and advanced our nation’s aerospace programs within the State of Nevada.
NVAHOF recognizes corporations who have supported its mission and are recognized on its Wall of Fame.
NVAHOF is a non-profit organization under Section 501 (c) (3) of the Internal Revenue Code of 1954 and received tax-exempt status from the U.S. Internal Revenue Service.
