Rezk M. Mohamed enlisted in the United States Air Force and advanced to Senior Aircraft Mechanic before reenlisting as an Aviation Cadet on November 3, 1952. He flew the F-86G, F-100 F-105D fighter planes and served in Vietnam as a Forward Air Controller and was involved in classified missions with the U.S. Army Special Forces and Vietnamese Rangers where he made four combat jumps. Mohamed advanced to the rank of Major and received with the 4525th Fighter Weapons School at Nellis Air Force Base where he served as Assistant Editor and then Editor of the USAF Fighter Weapons Review magazine and as the Weapons System Test Project Officer. He retired as a Lieutenant Colonel.
After retirement, Mohamed became active in the Civil Air Patrol, serving as the Nevada Wing Chief Check Pilot and Wing Counternarcotics Officer (South) while flying sorties for the US Customs Service as well as the Drug Enforcement Agency, accumulating 10,732 total flying hours.
For his contributions to the Civil Air Patrol and multiple communities in the Western United States, Rezk M. Mohamed earned his place in the Nevada Aerospace Hall of Fame.
